Food & Beverage - What's For Dinner
~SIT DOWN FORMAL DINNER~
The dinners are prepared and placed on individual plates and personally
brought to each guest by several staff members of the reception
location or caterer. The wait staff are professionally dressed
and usually wear white gloves for the full effect.
Main Course- When your deciding on the main course,
give your guests a choice between beef, chicken or fish. They
make this decision when they respond to your wedding initiation.
Then tally up the number of each dish that you will need and what
table they will be sitting at and your caterer and servers will
take care of the rest.
Side Dishes- These decisions are completely up to you. The caterer
will give you a choice of starch, type of potato and rice and
vegetable. You will want to stick with "normal" foods
such as mashed potatoes and corn to ensure you guests will be
pleased.
~FAMILY STYLE DINNER~
The tables are preset with china and napkins and the dinner is
placed in/on large serving dishes with utensils and brought to
the table by a waiter/waitress. The guests will serve themselves,
just as they would at their own family dinner.
Main Course- This is decided in the same manor
as the sit down formals but instead the main course platter will
have all the choices made by each guest at each table. For example:
you have 8 guests per table, 3 ordered beef, 2 ordered chicken
and 1 requested fish. All of them will be on one platter and your
guests simply take the one they ordered.
Side Dishes- This is decided upon by the couple.
~BUFFET STYLE DINNER~
The food is prepared and placed in separate serving dishes and
displayed on a long table.
Main Course- This is decided on by the couple.
They will have two - four choices and should decide on the type
of food that will accommodate most of the guests.
Side Dish- Some catering companies will not offer you a starch
but they always offer a vegetable or two. This may something you
can negotiate on if you really want a potato included in the dinner.
*All dinners will generally include a salad, rolls
and butter, coffee and tea. ENJOY!*
