The Wedding Ceremony - Save Money

Your ceremony usually doesn’t cost a lot of money to begin with. But when you’re planning your own wedding, every penny counts.

If you know someone who can legally marry you, ask them to do so as a wedding gift. An officient or clergyman costs between $50 and $100.

The music is a large part of the ceremony. If you want to use a musician, check with your local high school or college for an exceptional student. They will play for little or no money which is a better option than a professional musician.

Another option to consider is the use of a "boom box". Ask a close relative to operate this for your ceremony as a favor. Young teens are the best option as they love to be involved with the wedding.

Your decorations, as previously stated, should be minimal. Purchasing the fabrics and making them yourself will save you at least 50%. If you are not crafty, ask a family member to help you.

Most private locations require a fee of $75 - $150 for use of their facility. This is mainly used for the landscaping fees to keep the location lush and beautiful. The scenery can be breathtaking, but for those who are on a tight budget you may want to consider using a public park.
