The Wedding Ceremony - Decorating Tips

When choosing your decorations keep in mind that you want to create an atmosphere that will be inviting and have your guests talking for years to come. As the old saying goes "Less is more.", so let’s begin.

BALLOONS
You don’t want your big day to look as if you were at a birthday party. They can be a nice added touch, if used moderately. One balloon display is enough for the room.
Just a few examples
*Two balloon columns at the entrance
*6-8 dozen balloons w/ long streamers for the dance floor
*A balloon arch behind the bridal table

FLOWERS
A few small arrangements will receive positive compliments as opposed to the large arrangements that will have them talking about the money you spent. You want your guests to remember your wedding day in terms of how lovely the locations were decorated as opposed to debating their cost.

CANDLES
Let your guests share in the romance of the day by creating a warm environment. Keep in mind that your candles must be contained; many reception halls do not permit them to be exposed due to fire laws.

WHITE LIGHTS
This gives the room an elegant and soft feel. A fichus tree trimmed in white lights or a wrought iron arch draped in ivy and white lights is of the more popular choices.

CHURCH CEREMONY
This is when you want to keep the decorations to a minimal. You want all eyes on the event itself. The use of pew bows, a white runner and two medium sized floral arrangements at the alter give the room just enough elegance.

EMPTY RECEPTION HALLS AND OUTDOOR WEDDINGS
For these you may have to decorate a bit more. Not only to enhance the look of the site, but to mark the area for guests. You may want to visit a rental store that specializes in weddings for suggestions.
