Wedding Photos & Videos - Ask Questions

The photograph’s of your wedding day is not an investment that you want to gamble with. An experienced photographer can capture the excitement and love between two people that can be relived by anyone that opens your wedding album.

Choosing and contacting a photographer
Start by visiting the websites of local photographers. Make a list of the ones you wish to interview and contact them with a phone call; as e-mail does not produce a quick response. The first question you would need to ask is if a photographer will be available on your wedding date. If they are available, the customer service is exceptional and you feel comfortable that they could produce results that you will love, and then set up an appointment to meet with one of their photographers.

Meeting
Some studios have several photographers and you may be speaking with a salesman. Be sure to set up an appointment with the photographer that will be present on your wedding day. This will also give a chance to view their portfolio & build a relationship with them.

Prices
Your initial meeting with the photographer is the time for you to discuss prices, deposits, packages and any extra costs such as multiple location fees. Remember; you are paying for a permanent record of one of the most important days of your life. Most couples underestimate the cost of their photographer by 50%. You can expect a better photographer to cost more, however if you are choosing their service based strictly on price, you may be setting yourself up for a disappointment with poor quality, missing photos and even untimely production.

Photographs
Be sure to discuss the specific photos you want taken. For example, that touching moments during your ceremony, formality of the bridal photos and collection of candid’s during your reception.

Timing
Keep in mind, more time is more money. A good time frame is 1-hour before the ceremony until the cake cutting, garter and bouquet toss at your reception is complete. You can chose to have one present while you and your bridal are getting ready and invite them to stay throughout the entire reception. If this is the case, be prepared for a bill estimating $2,000.00 or more.
